paolo ulian

Paolo Ulian studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara and later at the ISIA in Florence. In 1990 he joined Enzo Mari's studio as an assistant and worked with him from 1992.


In 2000 he participated in the Salone Satellite, where he won first prize in the Design Report Award. In 2002 he won the Dedalus Award for European Design and takes part in the Hotel Droog event in Milan during the International Furniture Fair.
The Mat-Walk mat he designed for the occasion will be included in the permanent collection of the Design Museum in London. In the following years he designed again for Droog (the crumb "Bird-feeder" and the kennel pottery "Pet-bed"). He has collaborated with Driade, Fontana Arte, Danish and Zani Zani, Coop, Azur Ceramics, Skitsch, Officinanove, Who's afraid. During the Salone del Mobile 2009, Beppe Finessi has his first solo exhibition at the Steam Factory in Milan. In January 2010 his second solo exhibition, curated by Enzo Mari, will take place as part of the Milan Triennale.
In 2011 he wins 1st place in the "Social Design Prize" sponsored by the ADI.
In 2013 he was invited to participate in the new edition of the Triennale Design Museum with an installation dedicated to Vico Magistretti.
